Life Membership

Jill Heberle – citation

Jill is a foundation member of the Mt Beauty Senior Citizens Club and also of  Alpine U3A  which was established in 1998. 

Over the years she has served on the Management Committee of both organisations in various capacities and has convened/tutored several U3A groups. Even though Jill has retired from committee responsibilities she has remained active especially leading the Mahjong sessions.

Without the work of Jill the Seniors, as we call it, including management of the Hall, would have ceased to exist long ago.

In recognition of Jill’s outstanding work over very many years, the Seniors/U3A  have conferred Life Membership on Jill and it was with great pleasure that the committee was able to present a Life Membership Certificate to her on 7th February 2020.

David Wood — Citation

We believe David is worthy of Life Membership for his outstanding contribution and service to Alpine U3A and the associated organisation the Senior Citizens Centre over the last seven years.

Over this time David has held the following U3A positions:

  • 2020/21 — Newsletter Editor and Couse Co-ordinator
  • 2019/20 — Newsletter Editor
  • 2018/19 — Secretary & Newsletter Editor
  • 2017/18 — Secretary & Newsletter Editor
  • 2016/17 — Secretary & Newsletter Editor
  • 2015/16 — President & Newsletter Editor
  • 2014/15 — President & Newsletter Editor

David has taken on all key positions with the organisation and has been a leader in all of them.

David has also held the key position of secretary within the Senior Citizens Centre committee for the last four years.

We have no hesitation in nominating David for this award.

At the 4th June 2021 Coffee Morning and Guest Speaker (Dr. Skye Delany) presentation, David Wood (left) was presented with a well-deserved Alpine U3A Life Membership by president Rollo Kiek. Congratulations David.
