Come each week to play a variety of games such as Upwords, Scrabble.   

All players welcome, whether you are a beginner or an experienced player.

Board games keep us socially connected.  They help with memory and stimulate our minds.  They're fun!

Come along and play your favourite card games for a couple of hours.   

We play 500, Gin Rummy, Chinese Whist and Uno.  If you have a favourite game we're happy to learn new ones or to try new ones altogether.

Learn or teach knitting, crochet, needlework, or other crafts. Our craft group spends time knitting and crocheting items that can be donated to charities in our area including scarves, gloves, beanies, blankets, toys, and baby clothes. We are happy to teach anyone who would like to learn these skills. No requirements, but you can bring your craft projects.

Cryptic crosswords are a type of crossword puzzle where each clue is a mini word puzzle you must solve to find the answer. They are known for being more complicated than traditional crosswords, with often misleading and complex clues.

 Prerequisite: A bit of school French from once upon a time helps. But not necessary.

We talk, write, listen, revise, laugh, try, make mistakes all in French. We use all sorts of different methods, means and materials to practice our French with the aim of being able to speak and understand French. Periodically, we cover some aspect of grammar but overall it is a question of building confidence to be able to ask for what you want in French but more importantly, to be able to speak socially. Existing group members will be given priority for places because they have developed their skills over time and probably wish to continue. The ability to converse in French at a simple level is required for this course. Have some grounding/basic French

This is a strength training program. We have a 10-minute aerobic warm-up followed by a 40-minute circuit, which uses fit balls, TheraBand exercise bands, weights, and various machines and is designed to strengthen all parts of the body. We finish with a 10-minute cool down with stretches and balance exercises. Check with your health professional if you have not done a class like this before. Participants in this class must be members of the Neighbourhood Centre. Comfortable clothing and footwear. A floor mat for floor work. NOTE – There is a $2.50 charge per session.

This group will be held fortnightly on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. Practice popular dance styles like ballroom and line dance in a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. Our playlist will cover songs that are suitable for both ballroom and line dance in a social dance setting. Light refreshment provided after the session.

Mahjong is a popular tile-based game that originated in China and was developed during the Qing Dynasty. 

It is typically played with four players and is a game of skill and strategy, with an element of chance thrown in for good measure. 

The course caters to beginners and advanced players. 

Please arrive at 1:50 p.m. to help set up. There is a break about halfway through for tea or coffee.

This is a floor-based exercise program designed to strengthen the core muscles that help support the back and improve posture. 

We also do stretches to improve spinal flexibility.

Table Tennis provides physical exercise and mental agility in a social environment. 

Members of all standards (from beginners to experienced players) are welcomed, and beginners are provided with assistance. 

Loose, comfortable clothes and footwear. All equipment is provided.

Tuesday players have three extra practice sessions available:

The group meets each Wednesday at 8 a.m. in the summer and 9 a.m. in the winter. We will change the meeting time to coincide with the end and start of daylight saving time. 

We share the planning of the walks each week, which allows members to be absent occasionally. As many of our walks require car transport, we pay $10, when necessary, per member for a petrol kitty. 

$10 towards fuel per person for each attendance. 

Each Sunday before Wednesday, group members receive an email stating the planned route, the distance and estimated time required, the degree and difficulty, and the type of track to be walked. Walkers must be reasonably fit and able to walk up to 15km on various terrains. 

You will need sturdy walking boots, gaiters, a waterproof jacket, a backpack, a hat, a fly net, sunscreen, and water bottles. Some walkers use walking poles. 

A first aid kit, a snake bite kit and an EPIRB are carried by a group member on each walk.
